Destiny 2 The Final Shape Won’t Be the End, Devs Thinking About the Next 10 Years

While Bungie is set to release the Lightfall expansion in February 2023, the studio have also announced whats coming after it, which is The Final Shape expansion. Given the name, some might be thinking that once this is released, Bungie will be “ending” Destiny 2.

It seems that won’t be the case. Speaking to PCGamer,  Bungie Game Director Joe Blackburn sees The Final Shape as the final chapter in the Light and Darkness saga (which runs from Shadowkeep to The Final Shape), though the studio is already looking beyond that.

In the chat, Blackburn “mentions” the next 10 years of Destiny, which might be ridiculous for most games, but give the way Bungie has structured the game, it’s definitely doable. What are we getting beyond The Final Shape? We’ll know for sure next year when that expansion is out and Bungie is ready to talk about what’s next.

What are you hoping to see from the Destiny franchise after The Final Shape? Do you think Bungie can keep the player base intact for the next 10 years? Sound off in the comments and let us know.

That three times you are doing this!

First with Destiny 1, then at the launch of Destiny 2 and now again with a Destiny 2 DLC.

What is wrong with you? Just stop Bungie. You are not good at keeping promises.
